Day 10: Visit to Würzburg

Today we again started bright and early with class starting at 9:00am in one of the meeting rooms at the hotel. We learned about and work through proofs on prime, radical, and primary ideals and ended class with a discussion of the Lasker-Noether Theorem, finishing up our main section on Emmy Noether. Thank you Emmy!

Most people went out for a quick lunch or in John's case a quick search for his lost credit card before we headed to the train station to depart for Würzburg. We visited the Wurzburg Residence, a Beautiful and Lavish 18th century palace where the Prince-Bishops of Würzburg resided during the 18th century. Sadly, the palace was bombed in 1945 during air raids, but the restorations they were able to make were astounding! Below are a few images from the palace:

The residence also had a gorgeous garden that the public could walk with pets, friends, and family. It featured many statues, fountains, and scenic walking paths for people to enjoy.

Ending the day we got some dinner back in Nuremburg, finishing on a positive note. Tomorrow we are off to Erlangen and Bamberg, which we are so excited for!
