Heidelberg Castle Visit 🏰

Hallo Blog!

Everyone seemed to have had an early morning due to DEI discussion class. YAY! gotta love DEI. A lot of us engaged in great conversation on the readings regarding the barriers to success in mathematics. I was partnered up with Marit and Beck and we talked about our experiences, things we noticed and barriers that probably aren't addressed or seen. Nonetheless, it seems like my peers also participated in their own very interesting DEI discussion.

In the down time before going to castle, I visited a few souvenir shops along with Megan, Kate, John, and Jasper. Kate and I got a few postcards and Jasper finally got his really nice coat. hurray! A few of us had pretzels for lunch, but I decided to get a vegetarian wrap. very yum.

postcards!

We met up with tour guide who is so sweet and we took the bus to a location near by the funicular. (shout out to Marit for probs being the first person to sixseven in the funicular 💯) Anyways, the tour guide is super knowledgeable. I thought it was really cool that she knew such niche details from the castle. The wine cellar was very cool and big. I loved the architecture and backstory of the castle. It has definitely been one of my favorite establishments that we have visited so far. The view from the castle was top tier. I loved it! Below is a pic of some of the ruins of the castle. I'm pretty sure that back in the day she was a beaut.

group photo (thank u ande!)

At the end of tour guide, a few of us went to the ramen spot that Rosemary and Kaisa went to yesterday and it was soooo good. Everyone that went responded positively to the ramen. I then ended the night with a semi dry cinnamon roll but overall lots of fun and just a great day!

bye bye,

Sasha A.
