Hej hej! from Sweden! We started our last travel day as a class bright and early, with many of us waking up before 6am to make it to breakfast at 6:30am and our bus to the Frankfurt airport at 7:15am! Everyone made it to the bus on time, though it was a bit more of a rush for some of us (Ben, who started packing at 7am), than others.

We had a quiet 45 minute trip on our coach bus, and made it to the airport with plenty of time to spare. We had about an hour to kill before boarding started once we made it to the gate, and many chose to take a walk and find food.

Boarding went smoothly, and I was lucky enough to get a window seat! It is bittersweet to leave Germany, because while we get to explore a new city this week, it also means we only have a week left of class! (And you all only have a week left of reading this blog, which I'm certain is devastating news.)

The flight was uneventful, and I was even able to sleep for a while. Upon arriving at the airport, we collected our bags and met with our wonderful tour guide, who led us on our second airport trek of the day. She led us to our bus, which we were shocked to discover included a conference table in the back, where many played a card game during our 45 minute drive to our hotel.
After a very quick check in, change of clothes, and a 7-Eleven lunch, we were fueled up and ready (we thought) for our three hour walking tour of Stockholm. On our nearly three mile walk through the city, we saw tons of beautiful churches, government buildings, and other landmarks! There were also a ton of cute shops that caught my eye, which I'm hoping to check out tomorrow! While the city was beautiful, it was also COLD and WINDY, so there was much huddling for warmth and shaking out legs to get the blood flowing.

We ended our tour in the nice and warm subway station, where we got to activate our transit passes for the week. The station was my personal favorite part of the tour, because this was not a typical subway station. There were beautiful art displays in each of the stations we visited on our way back to the hotel! Upon exiting the station, we found a Max hamburgers fast food restaurant, where most of us chose to get dinner.
Everyone is ending their day at the hotel, warming up, and in my case, doing laundry (finally). Everyone is looking forward to our free day tomorrow to explore the city before we lock back in for our last few days of learning!
